Henry Joseph Tomao of Roosevelt Island, New York died on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Lenox Hill Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1933 in the Bronx, New York to Concetta and Raffaele Tomao.

Henry served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960. He was stationed in Fort Smith, Arkansas as well as in the Far East, including Korea and Japan during his years of service.

Henry was a businessman. He was the Vice President of Solo Credit Services Corporation for many years in Midtown Manhattan, entrusted with many responsibilities which kept Solo Credit a viable alternative to Dun & Bradstreet.

Henry married his wife, Erika, on May 31, 1962 and they had two children, Curt and Heidy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveled with them almost always. They took numerous vacations to beautiful southern Germany and Austria to visit his wife’s family. Their travels together also included Utah, Idaho and Canada.

Henry was a member of the Roosevelt Island Garden Club along with his wife and spent many days tending to their lovely garden and socializing with numerous friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Henry is survived by his wife Erika, son Curt (daughter-in-law Cheryl), daughter Heidy (son-in-law Jay) and grandson Daniel. He is also survived by his sister Helen Tomao.
